Growing Herbs in the Rockies with Tammi Hartung

Join well-known herbalist and author Tammi Hartung for this interactive two part workshop.  Tammi will share herb garden design concepts from formal to informal, medicinal to culinary and everything in between. She will talk about all the steps involved to plan and then plant an herb garden from deciding where a garden should be located, how to put your hard-scaping in place, which plants might form your perennial backbone in the garden and choosing the herbs you want to include. Participants will explore many herbs in detail as to what they offer to an herb garden from color, heights, how the garden feels to visitors and making it a wildlife-friendly place in a positive way. Of course, there will be insights on what the herb uses are too, whether they be for cooking, medicinal, tea, symbolism, even household use.  Finally, there will be time for participants to work on their own garden design with Tammi nearby to field questions and ideas.  FYI: This class will be appropriate for people wanting to grow an herb garden in Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nebraska, Kansas, and Arizona.
