The Sacred Folklore of Trees with Sara Stewart Martinelli

The Sacred Folklore of Trees with Sara Stewart Martinelli

Trees have always held a sense of wonder and magic in the hearts of humans and are considered sacred in many of the world’s mythologies and religions. Throughout history humans have created numerous stories and myths about these majestic spirits, as they reinforce for us the cycle of life: growth, death, and rebirth.   Join folklorist and herbalist Sara Martinelli on a leisurely walk around the farm to learn how these trees have been regarded through different cultures and periods of history.  You’ll learn how these trees have been used magically, spiritually and medicinally, and you’ll leave with a greater appreciation and connection to these wonderful protectors of earth.

Sara Stewart Martinelli is an herbalist, professional tea blender and owner of Three Leaf Farm.  She  graduated from the University of Colorado in 1991 with a degree in Anthropology, with emphasis on nutrition and the culture of food around the world.   Learning about how different foods become integral in the development of society, religion, and culture led Sara to explore the historic uses of herbs and their folkloric meanings.  After university, Sara completed a two year Herbal Medicine program at The Rocky Mountain Center for Botanical Studies in Boulder, Colorado.
