Sunday 1pm: Botanical Printmaking with Melissa Beckwith
Sunday 1pm: Botanical Printmaking with Melissa Beckwith
Discover the magic of botanical printmaking in this hands on monoprint workshop. Using an 8" x 10" gelatin plate and richly pigmented acrylic paints, participants will create one of a kind prints inspired by the natural world.
We will work with leaves, grasses, and flowers to build layered, organic compositions, exploring texture, pattern, and movement through the intuitive process of gel plate printmaking. Along the way, you will learn the fundamentals of this playful and accessible technique, including layering, masking, and pulling unique prints that can never be exactly repeated.
No prior printmaking experience is necessary. This class is perfect for beginners as well as experienced artists looking for a fresh, nature inspired approach to mark making and mixed media exploration.
Participants will leave with multiple finished prints and a deeper appreciation for the beauty of botanical forms translated through print.
