In this workshop, we'll exploring tapestry weaving on branches! This workshop is perfect for the total beginner or the seasoned weaver looking to explore organic shapes. In this class you will create a small tapestry weaving using a branch as the loom. We’ll cover the basic weaving process, beginner stitches, how to switch yarns, and how to finish the weaving for display. You’ll walk away with a small textile and sculpture piece inspired by nature. All supplies and tools, including branches, thread, and yarn, will be provided. Participants are welcome to bring their own yarn, if they prefer. Ages 10 and up.
Allie Olsen
Fiber arts have been a constant presence for all of Allie’s life. Originally from Montana, she's the daughter of a prolific fiber and mixed media artist. As an adult, she has worked primarily as a clothing designer, creating sewing patterns for the home hobbyist. In the past several years, her interests have expanded into weaving, basketry, and natural dyes. She can often be found scanning the forest floor looking for fodder for her next crafting project.
